Synopsis For The Middle Texas Coastal Waters

Strong onshore flow and large seas will continue this afternoon in advance of a cold front. The front will enter the coastal waters after midnight tonight into the early Thursday morning hours. There is a chance of showers and thunderstorms along the front. Moderate to strong offshore flow and large seas will occur behind the front through Thursday afternoon. There is a slight rain of light rain Friday and Friday night in response to a weak trough of low pressure along the coast. Wind and seas will subside by Saturday as the center of a surface high pressure system approaches the coast from the northwest. Moderate offshore flow will develop Sunday in response to another front.

Today South winds 15 to 20 knots. Bay waters choppy. A slight chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon.
Tonight Southwest winds 15 to 20 knots becoming northwest after midnight. Bay waters choppy. A chance of showers and thunderstorms.
Thursday North winds 15 to 20 knots becoming northeast 10 to 15 knots in the afternoon. Bay waters choppy decreasing to slightly choppy in the afternoon.
Thursday Night And Friday Northeast winds 10 to 15 knots. Bay waters slightly choppy.
Friday Night North winds 5 to 10 knots. Bay waters smooth.
Saturday Northwest winds 5 to 10 knots becoming west in the afternoon. Bay waters smooth.
Saturday Night Northwest winds 5 to 10 knots becoming north 10 to 15 knots after midnight. Bay waters smooth increasing to slightly choppy after midnight.
Sunday Northeast winds 10 to 15 knots. Bay waters slightly choppy.
Sunday Night East winds around 10 knots. Bay waters smooth to slightly choppy.
