The combination of a low pressure system moving across the Great Plains and high pressure over the Gulf is causing very strong winds over the coastal waters today. Small craft advisories are in effect for the both the Laguna and the open waters today. A cold front will move through the coastal waters of deep south Texas on Thursday causing moderate north winds in its wake. Small craft advisories are possible in the wake of the front on Thursday. Winds and seas will decrease by Friday as high pressure builds into the area through the weekend.

South winds 20 to 25 knots. Rough on the Bay.

Southwest winds 10 to 15 knots becoming northwest 15 to 20 knots early in the morning. A moderate chop on the Bay. Slight chance of showers after midnight.

North winds around 20 knots diminishing to 10 to 15 knots in the afternoon. A moderate chop on the Bay.

Northeast winds 5 to 10 knots. A light chop on the Bay. Slight chance of showers after midnight.

Light winds becoming north around 10 knots. A light chop on the Bay. Slight chance of showers.

North winds around 10 knots becoming east around 5 knots in the afternoon...then becoming light. A light chop on the Bay.

East winds around 10 knots becoming southeast after midnight. A light chop on the Bay.
